Benefits of our Donor Egg Networks
The Center for Advanced Reproductive Services is affiliated with several of the largest and most successful donor egg banks in the world.
According to physicians at the Center, becoming part of these donor egg networks benefit patients by:
- shortening wait times for donor eggs
- giving them more control over the matching process
- opening up a larger pool of high-quality donors
Who Do Egg Donor Programs Help?
Donor eggs help women who:
- cannot produce their own healthy eggs
- have not had success with superovulation therapies
- have early onset menopause
- have premature ovarian failure
- produce abnormal eggs
- experienced repetitive failures with In Vitro Fertilization
- carry genetic abnormalities or genetically transmitted diseases.
Our Egg Donor Program assisted in the conception of the first child born from a donor egg in New England in 1987. Since then, we have helped women conceive with eggs donated by both identified and anonymous donors.
The path to determining that egg donation may be a solution to infertility can be a long one. The realization is often further complicated by the long wait to find the right egg donor – for some, 6-12 months is the norm. Joining these networks of donor egg bank services allows our patients to access the largest inventory of frozen donor eggs in the world. For most patients, the diverse database of egg donors completely eliminates the 6-9 month matching wait associated with other egg donation programs.
Another benefit is that patients control the donor matching process. In the past, patients at The Center were limited to the egg donors that they had available in their internal pool or thru an agency. When a patient uses an egg bank, however, they will be in complete control of the donor selection process, receiving full access to all of the information available. Patients are guided by the experienced clinical staff at The Center and either of the egg banks chosen.
Each of our affiliated egg banks accepts donor eggs from the highest quality egg donors. In addition to meeting all FDA compliance standards, approved egg donors go through a thorough clinical, psychological, and genetic screening process.
Convenience and cost savings are also added benefits to patients. When patients from The Center use an egg bank, the egg donation cycle is completely planned around their busy schedule. The use of frozen donor eggs eliminates the need to synchronize the cycle of the egg recipient to the egg donor. Cycle financing and various cycle guarantee options are available through The Center and each of the egg banks. Information on these clinic specific programs can be found on their individual websites.

About MyEggBank
In the mid 1990’s Reproductive Biology Associates (RBA) recognized the potential clinical advantages that oocyte cryopreservation could bring to patients requiring the use of donated eggs. RBA’s initial egg freezing success came in 1997, when the practice reported the first births in the Western Hemisphere from frozen donor eggs. In 2000, after further refinement of the technique, RBA began to offer egg freezing as a means of preserving fertility in cancer patients facing fertility-threatening oncology treatment. In 2007, the RBA scientific team achieved its most important egg freezing breakthrough to date based on scientific research initiated in 2004 to explore an alternative way of cryopreservation called “vitrification.” Utilizing this new rapid freezing technique with egg donors between ages 21-30, RBA achieved pregnancy rates equal to fresh donor cycles in traditional IVF centers around the world. As it was reported in Fertility and Sterility in 2008 (Nagy et al, FS, 2008), 17 of the 20 recipients achieved live birth using vitrified donor eggs. Later that same year, RBA created one of the world’s first independent, fully inventoried frozen donor egg banks. Based on the success of its own egg bank, in 2010, RBA established MyEggBank North America (MEB-NA), a network of high quality infertility centers providing frozen donor egg bank services to patients across the United States and Canada.
