Utilizing an Agency Donor

At the Center, we help patients navigate the process of utilizing a donor egg agency to find an egg donor. At this time we are limiting the agencies we are working with to the ones listed below. We have met with these agencies, have had extensive conversations, and feel confident they work in a way that meets our mutually high expectations and standards. The agencies we have chosen to work with have signed an agreement with SART (Society of Assisted Reproductive Techniques) and state that they will abide by the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) Ethics Committee guidelines governing the payment of egg donors.

If working with a third party to find a donor, there are a few important pieces that are not handled by The Center for Advanced Reproductive Services (The Center).

First, when working with an agency, the recipient will be subject to an additional agency fee. These vary from agency to agency and are separate from The Center’s fees.

Second, agencies require a legal contract between recipients and donors. The agency will help to secure legal representation for the recipient and eventually for the donor.

Third, payment is required to screen donor candidate(s). Each screening is non-refundable even if the donor is determined by our center ineligible to donate. We will work with the agency to “pre-screen” the donors, that is review as much of her history as possible before moving forward with her full medical screening. By doing so, we can often disqualify donors before incurring the costs associated with full medical screening. Medical screening is the testing that is required to qualify an individual as a donor.

Finally, the recipient will be responsible for compensating the donor as well as paying for any expenses she incurs related to the cycle (i.e. travel). This is arranged through the agency and subject to the agency’s fee and policies.

The Center reserves the right to stop working with any agency, recipient or donor that is not abiding by the National Guidelines for egg donation.
