Alex Minnihan, M.D.

Dr. Alexandra Minnihan, Fellow in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility

Alexandra Minnihan, M.D., is a fellow at UConn School of Medicine and CARS. Alex will be with us for the next three years, and we are excited to have her join our team.

As an undergraduate at Brown University, Alex played NCAA Division I volleyball from 2009 to 2013. As a setter, her role was to read the court and deliver the ball to her teammates, setting them up for a winning play. The teamwork, attention to detail, communication, and leadership skills she developed on the volleyball court have clearly contributed to many of her successes both personally and professionally.

Following college, Alex pursued research in Marseille, France. While living abroad, she learned French and became fluent enough to communicate with her colleagues and patients. Her work there resulted in several publications and reflects both her intellectual curiosity and willingness to embrace new challenges.

Alex attended medical school and completed her four-year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Florida College of Medicine. During her medical training, she received numerous honors recognizing her excellence in teaching medical students and her contributions to research. She was also inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
